At Mas Bes farm, we offer you the opportunity to immerse yourself in authentic and educational rural life. Located in the heart of the La Selva region, in the province of Girona, Mas Bes is the perfect place to enjoy a family day, learn about farm work, and discover the artisan products we carefully craft. Our guided tours will allow you to meet the farm animals, explore our facilities, and participate in interactive activities that will give both young and old an insight into daily life in the rural world. Come and spend a day surrounded by nature and tradition, and take home an unforgettable memory of the authentic rural spirit of Mas Bes!

Small animals and corn workshop

You can touch and feed the lambs, goats, chickens, rabbits, and donkeys.
We will use old machines to feed corn to the chickens

Heifers

We will be able to feed grass to the future cows of Mas Bes farm

Suckling calves

We will see calves between 1 week and 3 months old that drink milk

Feed storage

This is where the different foods used for animal feed are kept; it is the farm's pantry

Irrigation pond or duck pond

We use rainwater to irrigate the fields, and sometimes a passing duck visits.

Biogas Plant

With our cows' manure, we generate 250 KWh. We generate green energy, stop emitting greenhouse gases, and use the remaining manure to fertilize our fields, orchards, and gardens.

Fattening pigs

Each year we fatten 3 Duroc pigs (March-October).
It's an animal that eats everything, and we use every part of it

Pre-calving cows

These are the ones that are between the 7th and 9th month of gestation.

Dairy cows

We keep them in 5 different pens. These are the cows we milk 3 times a day. They also have automatic brushes and cleaning systems.

Milking parlor

This is where the cows are milked and we store the refrigerated milk in tanks.

Educational museum of the rural world

We can see a wide variety of old farm machines and tools, divided into different sections and exhibitions, such as fauna, basketry, and vintage tractors.

At the end of the visit, we will treat you to a dairy product made in our workshop, and you will have the opportunity to purchase various local and own-brand products at our farm shop.

School groups

Schools are also welcome at Mas Bes. Students can take the complete tour of the facilities: enjoy the “Toca Toca” activity, the corn workshop, and end the day with lunch featuring products made at Mas Bes or in the picnic area with a private playground. Children will experience an authentic farmer’s life. We have a picnic area and covered spaces in case of bad weather.

We organize visits for veterinary professionals, livestock farmers, or engineers, to show and teach how Mas Bes’s housing system works.

It can be done in different languages: Catalan, Spanish, French, and English.

Yes. During the tour, most areas are covered, and the farm ground is all paved, so even if it rains, the visit and all activities can be enjoyed.

Once payment has been made, you can change the date of the visit to another that suits you.

You can modify the date of the visit with 2 days’ notice.

Absolutely. Mas Bes is a perfect family farm to enjoy an experience with children of all ages. They can touch, pet, and feed all the animals and participate in the different activities of the visit. Additionally, if you want to come with grandparents, they will also have a great time exploring the rural museum, the milking parlor, and all the farm facilities.

Yes. Thanks to the biogas plant and solar panels, we are practically 100% self-sufficient.

Yes, at Mas Bes we organize guided tours so you can get a close look at farm life, how we achieve milk production from the cows, and interact with all the animals.

Mas Bes is located in the La Selva region, in the province of Girona. Surrounded by fields and nature, it is the ideal place to experience an authentic rural family experience.

Of course. Mas Bes is a perfect family farm for children. They will be able to see and touch the animals, run freely outdoors, and participate in activities designed for them to enjoy and learn about the rural world.

Yes. The complete visit lasts 1h 30min, and the first part is the 45-min Toca-Toca activity. We offer visits every weekend at 11:30 AM. You can book it by clicking on “Book”.

Due to sanitary protocol, pets are not allowed inside the farm.

After the guided tour, around 1:15 PM, you can stay for lunch. Reservations must be made in advance via WhatsApp at 639014269 (Maria).

The complete visit costs €8 for adults and €6 for children, and if you only do the Toca-Toca activity, it costs €5/person. Children pay from 1 year old.

Unless there are very young children, we always recommend the complete visit. This already includes the Toca-Toca activity, and you will also get to know and see firsthand the daily life of a Friesian dairy cow farm. An hour and a half well spent enjoying and learning at Mas Bes farm.
